Object history |
English: Before 1803 Oberlauda was part of the Lordship of Lauda, from 1803 to 1806 of the Principality of Leiningen and since 1806 of the Grand Duchy of Baden. Oberlauda since 1635 was connected with the nearby village of Heckfeld. Both had a common mayor and a common court. Since 1685 Oberlauda and Heckfeld were two independent municipalities. A seal displaying the three annulets was first used on 5 July 1744. According to a protocol of the city council of Lauda from 1777, the annulets had been just three initials "O" symbolizing the municipality. They morphed into annulets in 1811, probably by an error of the seal-engraver. |
