Description
Español: El monasterio adquirió un alto poder económico, siendo capital de la Merindad de las Asturias de Santillana. La iglesia, construida entre finales del siglo XI y la primera mitad del siglo XII, toma el modelo cluniacense, con similitudes con San Martín de Frómista, Jaca o San Isidoro de León.
