Highsmith Archive, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division.; The 7 story building is of steel frame construction, clad in granite and limestone. It consists of a north-south core which bisects six equally spaced transverse wings. Designed in 1936 by architect Waddy Butler Wood.
