Summary
[edit]DescriptionCholestatic liver disease.webm |
English: What is cholestasis? Cholestasis, or cholestatic liver disease, is a condition where bile gets into the liver tissue and blood stream, causing liver damage and a variety of complications. Intra-hepatic cholestasis happens in the liver and is caused by liver cells, whereas extra-hepatic cholestasis happens outside the liver and is usually from an obstruction in the bile ducts. This video explores the pathophysiology, common complications, and clinical signs and symptoms for both intra- and extra-hepatic cholestasis. |
