Notes Other versions of the miniature of Princess Caroline are in the Schlossmuseum Gotha, inv. no. 1438/M.13 and in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, inv. no. 26.168.68. Both Saxon miniatures are based on large- scale oil paintings by Anton Graff (1736-1813).
