Español: Alfonso de Fonseca y Acevedo, arzobispo de la Catedral de Toledo, consigue de Carlos I, de cuyo Consejo Real era miembro, la autorización del traslado de la Capilla Real, fundada por Enrique II de Castilla (+1379) situada a los pies de la catedral. Hecho similar a lo sucedido con la otra Capilla Real, la llamada Capilla de los Reyes Viejos. Alonso de Covarrubias, Maestro Mayor de la catedral, proyecta la nueva, situada en la girola (1531-1534). |
