Description
English:
Bod chapel. Full name: Velence ancient church - Bod László Chapel Gallery. Built in 1722 replaced a former church. Till 1830 named after Saint Stephen and 40 years long it was the parish church of Velence. After completed the new church, noble Ferenc Meszlenyi bought it and remodelled to a family burial building. This much smaller chapel called John Nepomuk, locals called as Meszlenyi chapel. Since 1970s call it Bod chapel, because,-under the WWII seriusly damaged chapel,-the Church sold it to the sculptor László Bod. Mr. Bod renovated and for long decades operated as a art exhibition venue. A symbol of the Crusaders found under plaster on the north facade. Local grade listed and part of a listed building complex. - Fő Street 158 or/and 160, Velence, Fejér County, Hungary.
