Français : Armoiries de Rombas : D’azur à l’épée d’argent, garnie d’or, la pointe en bas, accostée de deux barbeaux d’or, flanqués de deux croisettes, recroisetées au pied fiché du même.
Les barbeaux, les croisettes et le champ d'azur font référence à l'ancien duché de Bar auquel la ville a longtemps appartenu. L'épée représente l'abbaye St-Paul de Verdun. Approuvées par la commission départementale d’héraldique le 28 février 1957, les armoiries communales ont été délivrées par le préfet le 25 avril 1957.
English: Origin : The two barbels and the two crosses are derived from the old Duchy of Bar, to which the city of Rombas historically belonged. The sword is the symbol of St. Paul, patron saint of the abbey of St. Paul in Verdun, which held the patronage over the local parish. |
