Description
English: An illustration of a game of billiards being played using the 'rest'. When the ball to be played is out of reach the player may use the rest, or bridge, to rest the cue on to take the shot. Page 1063 in Henry B. Scammell's 1897 handbook Cyclopedia of Valuable Receipts, a guide to all and sundry with 2000 illustrations.
