Description
English: 342,917 of Bergen County, NJ citizens are speakers of a non-English language, which is higher than the national average of 21.5%. In 2015, the most common non-English language spoken in Bergen County, NJ was Spanish. 13.5% of the overall population of Bergen County, NJ are native Spanish speakers. 5.36% speak Korean and 1.66% speak Polish, the next two most common languages. When compared to other counties, Bergen County, NJ has a relatively high number of residents that are native Korean speakers. In 2015, there were 50,280 native Korean speakers living in Bergen County, NJ, approximately 15.3 times more than would be expected based on the language's frequency in the US more broadly.
