English:

The back of the image has writing written on the photo that reads, “April-May 1924 Eruption Halemaumau Crater which lies within an outer crater called Kilauea. The trees in this picture are three miles from Halemaumau. Boulders as large as 14 tons were tossed in the air. Most were smaller-many from three to seven tons. Small green stones called alavines are found in the boulders and when polished are quite pretty. Also known as Hawaiian diamonds.” Towards the center bottom of the image there is also a photographer copyright stamp that reads, "Copy-Right, K. Maehara Hilo, Hawaii." There is also a number handwritten sideways on the left side of the image that reads, "889."
