English: Preserved biological specimen on paper. Preserved Specimen On A3 Paper With A Printed Label Identifying It In The Bottom Right Corner. The Paper Is Mounted On A Larger Cardboard And Covered With Plastic Which Is Sealed To The Board. There Are Two Samples On The Page. The First Is The Length Of The Page And The Bottom Is Bent To Fit. There Is A Section Of Roots At The Bottom And Thin, Delicate Leaves Line The Rest Of The Stem, Leaving Only About Six Inches Bare At The Bottom. There Are Also Off Shoots Attached To The Stem, Which Are Lined With Small, Individual Flowers. This Is The First Record Of This Species In Vermont. The Second Sample Is Similar, But Is Cleanly Cut From The Rest Of The Plant And Does Not Have Any Roots. The Flowers Are More Densely Placed Together And The Sample Is Not As Spread Out As The First. The Pencil Inscription Next To The Sample Reads 'Sp. From Mrs. A.[Illegible] Brown West Woodstock. 8-31-22' Information listed as Content Date and Place Descriptions are taken from the original specimen label. Place Descriptions are locations that are not necessarily publicly accessible within the park's boundary. Taking plants, fish, wildlife, rocks, or minerals is prohibited within park boundaries except in accordance with other regulations of Chapter I of 36 CFR or pursuant to the terms and conditions of a specimen collection permit. |
