“Mssrs – I understand that Mr Burgoyne Kemp has an article in his hands of Lot called Douglas Lot which I wish to purches Mr B Kemp state that you have a Claim on said lot of fifty six dollars and and Mr. Smith of 26 dollars -- The lot has fell back to the office they say the agents of the Company would rather I Could [illegible] the old [article?] Now I wish these Claimse Could be discharges here and I further wish you to appoint some agent in this place that can do the business --- I would recomend Luther [Wilson?] or Burgoyne Kemp—As for the payment of these claims I wish you to make it as easy as you can for me and let me know as soon as possible
Yours etc [illegible] April 17th 1828 Abram Van Desen”
Notation in Hunts hand?: “ answered 5th 10th 1828 if pd ½ in [1 yr?] 1/2 in 2 years then [illegible] to begin w/[illegible]” [upside down on bottom of page "Mr Hunt"].
