Summary
[edit]DescriptionA collage of the Full Moon and its hidden colors.jpg |
English: Left image represents the Moon in black and white, middle shows the natural colors as seen with the naked eye, and the right image got its colors over-saturated to enhance the colors of the minerals found on the surface of the Moon.
I did this to have a better idea of how certain minerals are spread across the surface, which I find quite interesting to know about. There's a lot to talk about the science and geology behind the simple question "what color is the Moon?", but briefly here are the main facts: Highlands contain mainly: aluminum and silicon Lowlands contain mainly: iron, magnesium, titan Blue areas are rich in titanium while brown/orange is poor in iron and titanium |
