English: Pollen grains of Cucurbita pepo under microscope
The stamens are made up of filaments and anthers. Pollen grains are produced in the anthers. Pumpkin pollen grains were preserved in 70% ethanol. With a pipette, pollen grains are taken from the liquid and dripped into the middle of the object glass. The rest of the liquid in the pipette is returned to the glass container. A cover glass is placed, which is lowered at an angle of 45°. In this way, the native microscopic preparation is prepared and it is ready for microscopy. Pumpkin pollen grains are characterized by having spines and warts on their surface. Prepared and performed by Sara Cvetanoska, Institute of Biology, FNSM, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, Macedonia. (Cucurbita pepo)
