  • Significance: The 1979 "Sweet Auburn" Project which included both documentary recording of historic structures and proposals for their rehabilitation was initiated by the Historic American Building Survey of the Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service. This pilot project was under the direction of the survey's chief, John Poppliers and Kenneth L. Anderson, principal architect. Technical Preservation Services provided a staff historian, Dan Durett, to coordinate the project...
