Description
Français : À la demande du Service Régional de l’Archéologie - DRAC Occitanie, la société Archeodunum accompagne les travaux de restauration du château du Tournel (Mont-Lozère-et-Goulet, Lozère). Mentionnée dès le XIIIe siècle, cette forteresse de schiste demeure encore très mal connue. Depuis octobre 2020, les archéologues étudient donc les murs de ce château depuis les échafaudages et explorent les vestiges enfouis.


Du sol caladé du Logis au toit-terrasse de la Tour du Réduit avec ses ouvertures de tir, en passant par de mystérieux motifs de chaussures gravés au XVIIe siècle au sommet du Donjon, les découvertes sont nombreuses !

À l’issue du chantier de restauration, nos spécialistes analyseront l’ensemble des données recueillies afin d’écrire l’histoire multiséculaire de ce site exceptionnel.

Opération d’archéologie préventive conduite depuis octobre 2020 par un équipe archeodunum sous la direction de Cécile Rivals, sur la commune de Mont-Lozère-et-Goulet, au château du Tournel, en préalable à sa restauration.
