English: Aurora Borealis in Blackheath.


All photos (except #15, #16 and #17) were taken with an iPhone SE 3rd gen. The other three taken with an iPad 4th gen. The Aurora paid us a visit to the UK late last night (early this morning) and I popped out onto Blackheath to see if I could see it. Yes! Although initially no as I couldn't see anything in the sky and was going to head home but thought I might as well photograph the stars that were now visible (I'd been out a couple of hours earlier but it had been cloudy). Imagine my surprise at seeing a blog of pink appear on the photo once taken. A few minutes later it became bright enough to see with the naked eye. Just fantastic. Even in light-polluted London.


Location is Blackheath, South East London. I was standing in the field / heath near Hare and Billet pub and pond, ///What3Words: tigers.held.tester
