Description
English: A fairly contemporary Nissan Versa, a Mini Clubman, and other vehicles in the parking lot of the permit parking lot at the station house for the Southeast Metro-North Railroad station along the Harlem Line in the Town of Southeast, Putnam County, New York. The manufacturers and models of these vehicles are not the subject of this photo, however. The station house is in the background behind all these cars and trucks. It is your typical MTA pair of high-level platforms with staircases, elevators, and a footbridge over one of the tracks, in this case over the Grand Central Terminal-bound tracks. However, this station house predates the existence of Metro-North Railroad, having been built in 1980. The MTA took control of commuter railroads used by Penn Central in 1972, and then Conrail in 1976. before officially establishing the Metro-North Commuter Railroad in 1983.
