Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Pedestrian tunnel portal along the Port Washington-bound platform at the south parking lot of the Douglaston Long Island Rail Road station in the Douglaston section of Queens, New York City. The brick and aluminum tunnel was rebuilt in the mid-1960's to match the mid-century modern station house designed by local architect Allan Gordon Lorimer, which replaced an elaborate Queen Anne style 2 ½ story station house that deteriorated by the mid-20th Century. Note also the storefronts on 235th Street in the background.
