Description
Slovenčina: Socha generála Milana Rastislava pred novou budovou Slovenského národného divadla v Bratislave. Bronzová plastika generála Milana Rastislava Štefánika (7,4 m vysoká, 8 miliónov korún) bola odhalená 4. mája 2009, na 90. výročie Štefánikovej smrti v časti mestskej štvrte Eurovea. Koncept pamätníka vytvoril český sochár Bohumil Kafka v 30. rokoch 20. storočia. Súčasťou pamätníka je aj lev. V minulosti pamätník bol osadený na námestí Ľudovíta Štúra v roku 1938. Socha v 50. rokoch bola odstránená. Lev v roku 1988 bol inštalovaný pred Slovenským národným múzeom. 27 metrov vysoký pylón je obložený travertínom a na vrchu ma sochu leva. Cena pamätníka sa vyšplhá na 30 miliónov korún. Socha Štefánika sa skladala z dvadsaťšesť častí a museli ju zvárať zvonku, ale aj zvnútra. Socha má spevnené dolné časti nôh, aby na päťmetrovom podstavci vedela odolať aj vetru s rýchlosťou 180 kilometrov za hodinu.
