Nederlands: Nederland stond aan de voet van de oprichting van de Europese Unie in 1957, destijds de Europese Gemeenschap voor Kolen en Staal. Sindsdien is er veel veranderd. In dit eerste inzicht gaan we op bezoek bij de Europese Commissie, het Europees Parlement, en de Permanente Vertegenwoordiging van Nederland bij de Europese Unie en leren wij over het proces van Europese besluitvorming.
In deze video vertelt Tony Agotha, lid van het kabinet van de vicevoorzitter van de Europese Commissie Frans Timmermans, over de rol van de Europese Commissie in het voorstellen en toepassen van Europese wetgeving. Daarna legt Liesje Schreinemacher, lid van het Europees Parlement namens de VVD, uit hoe het Europees Parlement als wetgevend orgaan werkt en hoe de positie van het Parlement door de jaren heen veranderd is. Hanneke Luijendijk, afdelingshoofd Juridische en Institutionele Zaken bij de Permanente Vertegenwoordiging van Nederland bij de Europese Unie, sluit af over hoe de Permanente Vertegenwoordiging in het wetgevingsproces de Nederlandse belangen inbrengt. |
