이달부터 규격 외 추가요금 적용

우편물 100통 중 96통은 지난해 8월부터 시행된 새 우편번호를 사용하고 있는 것으로 나타났습니다.

우정사업본부는 5자리 새 우편번호 시행 1년을 맞아 사용률을 조사한 결과 96%로 나타났다고 밝혔습니다.

5자리 새 우편번호는 도로명 주소와 국가기초구역제도의 안정적인 정착을 위해 시행됐습니다.

5자리 새 우편번호 사용이 빠르게 정착된 것은 다각적인 맞춤형 홍보가 큰 역할을 한 것으로 분석됩니다.

또 새 우편번호를 쉽게 검색할 수 있는 것도 큰 역할을 한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

한편 5자리 새 우편번호 시행 1년이 되면서 종전 6자리 우편번호를 기재하면 규격 외 추가요금이 발생할 수 있어 주의가 요구됩니다.

1년의 유예기간이 지난달 31일에 만료됨에 따라 이달 1일부터는 규격 외 우편요금이 적용됩니다.
