Русский: Малощетинковые черви (лат. Oligochaeta) населяют всевозможные типы континентальных водоемов, в большинстве рек и озер эта группа животных значительную часть донной фауны: биомасса бентоса на 50-60% а иногда и на 100% может состоять из олигохет. Они играют крупную роль в круговороте веществ водоема, определяя темпы илообразования и минерализации донных осадков. Массовое развитие полисапробных видов является мощным фактором процесса самоочищения загрязненных водоемов. Также значительна роль олигохет в питании некоторых промысловых рыб.
English: Oligochaeta inhabit various types of continental water bodies. in most rivers and lakes, this group of animals is a significant part of the benthic fauna: benthic biomass 50-60% and sometimes 100% may consist of oligochaetes. They play a major role in the circulation of substances of the reservoir, determining the rate of silt formation and mineralization of bottom sediments.
