Description
Русский: Летчик-истребитель 237-го истребительного авиационного полка 220-й истребительной авиадивизии 16-й Воздушной армии Сталинградского фронта сержант Илья Михайлович Чумбарёв (1922-1957) у обломков сбитого им при помощи тарана немецкого самолета-разведчика Фокке-Вульф Fw.189. Фрагмент из представления на Орден Ленина: «14.9.42г. вылетел из засады на перехват бомбардировщика /разведчика/ противника „Фокке-Вульф“. Будучи точно наведен по радио на противника — подошел к нему вплотную снизу и протаранил его, отбив лопастями своего самолета Як-1 хвостовое оперение. Самолет противника рассыпался в воздухе, его экипаж взят в плен в районе м. Ивановка. Сам Чумбарёв благополучно сел у своего аэродрома с погнутыми лопастями винта».
