MADAME ROYALE, FILLE DU ROI LOUIS XVI, circa 1796 Figuré en miniature et en médaillon, en buste de trois-quarts à gauche.

MADAME ROYALE, DAUGHTER OF KING LOUIS XVI AND QUEEN MARIE-ANTOINETTE, CIRCA 1766 MINIATURE PORTRAIT, PAINTED ON IVORY, CIRCA 1796, FROM THE COLLECTION OF THE LATE KING UMBERTO II OF ITALY.

Beau portrait de Madame Royale qui rappelle celui exécuté en grand par Heinrich Friedrich Fuger, à la même période, et la représente en exil à Vienne, chez son oncle l'empereur d'Autriche, peu après sa sortie de la prison du Temple où elle était enfermée à Paris.


Sous verre avec cadre en bronze doré à motifs de perles.

Marie-Thérèse Charlotte de France (1778-1851), " Madame Royale ", elle est la seule des enfants du roi Louis XVI et de la reine Marie-Antoinette à avoir survécu à la Révolution française. Mariée à son cousin, le duc d'Angoulême, le couple n'eut pas d'enfant. Rentrée en France sous la Restauration en 1814, elle dut repartir en exil après la Révolution de 1830. Elle décéda en 1851 en Autriche, chez son neveu le comte de Chambord au château de Froshdorf.
