Description

Fahrt auf dem Stausee zu der Tempelanlage von Philae: der Trajan-Kiosk des Augustus an der Ostseite der Insel Agilkia. Der altägyptische Kiosk stellte als ein nach mehreren Seiten geöffneter Pavillon eine besondere Bauform des Gottesschattens (Gotteshaus oder -zelt) dar und hatte den Charakter einer Sonnenkapelle.

Auf Grund von zwei Reliefs, die Kaiser Trajan als opfernden Pharao vor den Göttern Isis, Osiris und Horus als Kind zeigen, wurde das Bauwerk meist diesem Kaiser zugeschrieben. Der Trajan-Kiosk wurde jedoch schon unter Kaiser Augustus erbaut und später durch Trajan wiedererrichtet.
