Ella (Luella) Hudson Day (1875-1951) was a lifelong resident of Texas, accomplished pianist and vocalist and composer of rags and other pieces. This was her first rag, and it's a doozy. Her best-known work is "Fried Chicken Rag" from 1912. She married Eugene Day in 1897 and they settled in Rotan, Texas for the rest of her life. This rag was published by J.P. Nuckolls in Dallas, Texas in 1909.

This is a reproduction of the original score. Added a natural to the last F at measures 19 & 53; changed measure 43 to match m. 9.
