There were four rags published in the years 1907 and 1908 with "Fluffy Ruffles" in the title, named after a popular comic strip which started in 1907 about a young working woman who dressed fashionably. That might account for this excellent rag getting overlooked a bit. It was initially self-published by Harry Cook in 1907 and was good enough to be later picked up by the large publisher Jerome H. Remick in New York. Harry L. Cook (1878-1953) was a musician from Indiana who settled in Louisville, Kentucky and who later became a policeman! He wrote three rags, including "Shovel Fish Rag".
