English: Fat Man was the codename of the implosion type nuclear weapon which was detonated over Nagasaki, Japan by the United States, on August 9, 1945. See also: Little Boy (the Hiroshima gun-type uranium bomb) and Trinity test (test of the same implosion device as used in "Fat Man"). For the effects on Nagasaki, see Category:Nagasaki in Ruins. Fat Man was the prototype of all subsequent nuclear weapons and initiated the Nuclear arms race.
