Good idea

This page (and advertisement banner across the wikimedia sites) references "Africa's rich heritage and culture" -- Africa is not a single country or Thanks entity and I believe Wikimedia's language should reflect that by saying, at a minimum, "Africa's rich heritage and cultures" with an 's.'

Thanks Bahinto, this is a good point. We are making the change (and more)! Islahaddow (talk) 09:24, 19 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

These will really promote african culture and also preserve it so that the future generation can also come and be taught their true ways of living Omphile motlhabane (talk) 20:50, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Main page complaint

[edit]

Sorry, where is the comments-page for this web-page? I came here having clicked on the red logo, which is showing elsewhere and I have uploaded a photo, based on the above "share the daily practises of people" and then it got tagged "dance and music". I live and work in Africa and I hope Wikimedia is not suggesting that we just sing and dance here all year long. Africa is always so much more! I see that there are several suggestions on this page (music and such is mentioned here below) - so it is unclear what Wikimedia wants this year. There are even example photos shown, which do present architecture or pedestrians and buildings, no music no dance; so this needs work and clarification. Please some veteran put this feedback where it belongs (if there is a discussion page for this promotion). Thank you.--Bassilois (talk) 13:47, 13 December 2016 (UTC) moved from main page to Discussion by Liam E. Bekker (talk) 07:50, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
