Competition rules
Participation is simple and easy. There are only a few rules for photos to follow in order to participate in the contest in Malaysia. Let's quickly go through them. Every submission should be:
- Self taken and self uploaded;
- Uploaded during September 2024;
- During the upload process, you give permission with a CC BY-SA license to re-use the image;
- Contain a listed monument, which you have identified using the monument identifier;
- No watermarks present on the photo;
- No modification or edits applied on the photo;
Other than that, there are a few practical rules:
- You should have an activated e-mail address on Wikimedia Commons;
- If the photo gets deleted for any reason, it is automatically disqualified from the competition;
- You are responsible for following the law while taking and uploading the photo.
In September, you may upload as many pictures (old or new) as you want of monuments that you have visited. At the end of the month, the national jury will evaluate the photographs and select the best 10 pictures of the monuments in Malaysia to submit to represent in the international finale.
