There are a few rules for photos to participate in the local as well as in the international contest. Every submission should be: self-taken and self-uploaded; uploaded within the period from 1 September to 30 September 2015 and available in Wikimedia Commons; freely licensed (Creative Commons licenses CC-BY and CC-BY-SA, GNU Free Documentation License, Public domain); containing an identified (specified in the description of the photo) object of the cultural heritage of Bulgaria Number of entries for the contest There is no limitation on the number of photos which one can submit to take part in the contest. All participants can (and are encouraged to) submit as many photos as possible. Photographic and technical criteria The jury will assess the uploaded photos taking into consideration photographic criteria such as: Exposure Focus, Sharpness, Composition, colours. The photos participating in the international contest will be assessed according to the criteria for featured images in Wikimedia Commons: Commons:Image guidelines The technical criteria include: Resolution: at least 2 megapixels. Mnemonic filе names. Photos should have a mnemonic and meaningful filе name (in Cyrillic or in Latin). Correct description. The description of the content of the photo should be sufficiently detailed and precise so that the photographed object can be unambiguously identified. It is desirable that the description be both in Bulgarian and in English. Geolocation data. Whenever possible, provide geolocation parameters of your photos for the Wiki Loves Monuments contest. They are not obligatory, but they can be useful for other users who want to visit a certain monument like you. Categorization. The image should be categorized. In case you can't manage to categorize your photo, volunteers from Wikipedia will help you if a sufficiently precise description has been provided. No watermarks, advertisements or signitures in the images. The contest Wiki Loves Monuments accepts only freely licensed photos. Activated contact with the participant To be eligible to win a prize, participants in the contest must provide a way to contact them. It is recommended that the participant has an activated e-mail address in his/her preferences and has the receiving of e-mails enabled. If no way of contact is provided or known to the organisers, or no reaction is given, the photo(s) stay part of the contest, but the uploader can't win a prize. In case no way of contact has been provided or no reaction is given after contacting, it is up to the local team to decide if a winning photo stays in the top 10 of winning photos or not.
