Participants take pictures of local natural heritage and scenic landscape in their countries, and upload them to Wikimedia Commons. The aim of the event is to highlight the conservation areas of the participating countries with the goal to encourage people to capture pictures of these sights, and to put them under a free license which can then be re-used not only in Wikipedia but everywhere by everyone. This year Bangladesh is also participating this competition and this page introduces the Bangladeshi part of this competition. The local competition is being supported & organized by Wikimedia Bangladesh with the help of Bangla Wikipedia community members. Timeline Start date: 1 June 2019 End date: 30 June 2019 Decision of local results: early October 2019 Deadline for the international results: December 2019 Everyone is welcome to get involved, whether as a participant (photographer), organizational volunteer, or both.
