Wiki Loves Africa is an annual contest where anyone across Africa can contribute media that relates to that year's theme to Wikimedia Commons for use on Wikipedia and other project websites of the Wikimedia Foundation. Wiki Loves Africa encourages participants to contribute media (photographs, video and audio) that illustrate the specific theme for that year. Each year the theme changes. Each year's theme is chosen by the community to be a universal, visually-rich and culturally-specific topics (for example, markets, rites of passage, festivals, public art, cuisine, natural history, urbanity, daily life, notable persons, etc).

You are encouraged to submit any photos of Climate and Weather in Ghana between 1st March and 20 April 2023. By submitting your photos to the competition, you share images of weather and climate themes in Ghana with the world through Wikimedia Commons.

Are you are in Accra, Volta Region, Central Region, Savana Region , Bono Region, Ashanti Region, Oti Region, Western Region, Eastern Region or anywhere else in Ghana, find climate and weather features, take a photo, Video (time lapses etc), Audio (sound of the wind, thunderstorm, river etc in an artistic way and upload it to Wikimedia Commons:

Prizes

There are several prizes up for grabs, both nationally and internationally.

The international level prizes are listed here

National level prizes are

• 1st National Prize - GH 1,000.00
• 2nd National Prize - GH 800.00
• 3rd National Prize - GH 600.00

Jury

At the end of the contest, the national jury will evaluate the photographs and select the best 10 pictures submitted to represent in the international finale. The international jury will then announce the international winners in June 2023.

Judging criteria

The jury will determine the winners of the international contest taking into consideration the following criteria (in no particular order):

• Technical quality (sharpness, use of light, perspective, Size of Picture etc.);
• Proper naming of picture
• Originality;
• Usefulness of the image for Wikipedia.
