About
[edit]Science Photo Competition 2018 — is a Russian Federation photography contest, conducted by global Wikimedia movement volunteers to promote science and illustration of science-related Wikipedia articles by quality modern photography and media-files. The contest will take place from the 15th of July through the 30th of September 2018.
Contest objective is to support creative expression and development of creative skills of contest participants. Just speaking about science is not enough, science must be illustrated

[edit]- 1.1. From the 15th of July through the 15th of September 2018 — uploading contest works.
- 1.2. From the 30th September through the 10th of October 2018 — judging.
- 1.3. 12th of October 2018 — publishing contest results & informing the winners.
- 1.4. From the 15th of October through the 31st of October 2018 — delivering prizes to winners.
2. Contest participation conditions
[edit]- 2.1 Contest participants are not limited by the number of works filed for the competition.
- 2.2 All works must be uploaded under free license. Acceptable types are CC-BY-SA 4.0, CC-BY 4.0, CC0 1.0, and others.
- 2.3 Contest participants are not discriminated by their citizenship.
- 2.4 Contest is open for both professional and amateur photographers.
- 2.5 By entering a work for the competition, the participants confirms having read, understood and accepted these conditions.
Prizes
[edit]- Three winners in each of the five nominations will receive monetary prizes amounting to 10 000 rubles. Total prize fund amounts to 150 thousand rubles.

«Наука» — Russia's 24/7 TV Channel about discoveries and achievements in the field of Science and Technology. «Nauka 2.0» TV Channel started broadcasting in test-mode on the 15th of February 2011, launching full scale cable and satellite broadcasts in Russia's networks on the 2nd of April 2011. Since November 2011 TV Channel has enlarged its coverage area to include Latvia. Live programs were initiated in December 2011, starting with Noble Prize awarding ceremony at Stockholm. In April 2016 «Nauka 2.0» TV Channel was renamed as «Nauka». Since March 2017 the channel is broadcasting in 16:9 wide-screen TV format with MTS.
