This is my bot ;) I'm file renamer (as user). Permission requested for more effectively use mass rename tool. --Kaganer (talk) 01:37, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Bot has only been approved for categorization purposes. No permission for renaming so I can't grant the bot this flag at this time. --Majora (talk) 03:01, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
As an active user in cs.wiki, wikidata and sometimes other projects, I sometimes find file with misleading name or with mistake in name. I am active for more than 10 years even in commons. There are not many czech renamers, so one more wold be useful. JAn Dudík (talk) 10:56, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Question to sysops: what happened to File:SVVP Klikatá, vodící pes.jpg (histlogsabuse log)? Don’t we observe VoyenTech’s syndrome? Incnis Mrsi (talk) 14:13, 1 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Rename request by User:JAn Dudík, moved by User:Rzuwig, speedy tag by User:Rzuwig, deleted by User:Fastily. 4nn1l2 (talk) 17:09, 1 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done I'm gonna go ahead and mark this as not done after being open for nearly 3 months. In my view there just isn't a need as stated above by Hedwig in Washington. In the 3 months this request has been open you have filed no new rename requests and as stated you only had a handful to begin with. So there really isn't anything to go on here that would show that you need this right nor anything additional since you applied that would change that. --Majora (talk) 21:21, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am a file mover on English Wikipedia, and I often encounter files hosted on Commons that need harmonization of their names (criteria 2 and 4). For example I am currently working on 3D models of asteroid shapes based on lightcurve inversion, where most are named similarly to File:471Papagena (Lightcurve Inversion).png, but some look like File:A657.M1088.shape.png which should become File:98Ianthe (Lightcurve Inversion).png. I'd rather do the work myself than bother an admin here. – JFG (talk) 08:53, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I incidentally noticed this application (I'm applying for autowikibrowser above). JFG is the go to editor for spaceflight articles on the English wiki and always has had an eye for detail—just the kind that makes a reliable file mover. Grey Wanderer (talk) 02:01, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. The user has less than 1000 edits, not complying with the recommended number of edits for this right. In addition, he is not very active, therefore not justifying the attribution of the tool. If is necessary to rename a image, please use this template. Regards, Érico (talk) 18:23, 15 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hello, I am co-ordinator of International Commons contest, Commons:Wiki Loves Love 2019. We are receiving a lot of images with Bad file names and as a part of screening and Filtration process, we are renaming the file names that have irrelevant or improper filename. Please grant me File Mover rights, so I can start working on this as soon as possible.Wikilover90 (talk) 22:44, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Less than 1000 edits and no previous rename requests. --Didym (talk) 23:00, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Every now and then I seem to find a few or a bunch of files that should be renamed. I think I've had one unjustified renaming request; I understand why it was refused. Thank you. bdijkstra (overleg) 21:27, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    •  Neutral - Very experienced user, especially with technical things and as moderator on NL-Wikipedia, but here on Commons only 7 uploads and approx. 700 edits. I'm not gonna vote against him, because he's from my home-wiki, but normally this would be declined. - Richardkiwi (talk) (talk) 15:30, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose – seventeen(17) edits to Commons:, excluding this request. During nine(9) years. Misleading edit summaries in File: – a technical guy must know that the condition is called “mojibake”; \303\203\302\246 has nothing “erroneous” as an UTF-8-encoded text. Sorry, but Wikimedia Commons is a mature project, and doesn’t need elevated privileges for users with such qualification. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 07:04, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • What do Commons:-edits say about my qualifications as a file mover? And how does my knowledge of names of conditions relate to my ability to contribute usefully? My edit summary said "UTF-8 error" because the uploader's text bytes were erroneously not interpreted as UTF-8. --bdijkstra (overleg) 09:10, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If a person whose credentials suggest a technical specialization is confused about technical terms (see e.g. https://www.google.com/search?q=UTF-8+error ) and has a foggy grasp of core concepts, then a high rate of errors and other misleading stuff may be expected. Understanding UTF-8 has at least such relation to file mover rights that all page names in Wikimedia are encoded in UTF-8; surely most file movers never need anything to understand about byte streams, but a guy explicitly speaking about UTF-8 does need it. Shortage of the Commons: record indicates a weak experience – not worse, but not less that it. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 10:14, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Less than 700 edits. Taivo (talk) 18:11, 22 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
We have uploaded few files but unfortunately they are non descriptive like Images-GN14467.jpg. Now we are planning to rename those files to describe what the image particularly displays. To rename a file, I tried API:Move. I am getting " You do not have permission to move files. ". I need the permission temporarily and to only rename self-uploaded files. Please help. Thank you. Htsa (talk) 03:22, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have several pages that need moving, been active here for a long time, and I edit and upload photos. Especially about Swedish streets, for example, I need to move several "Uggleviksgatan" to "Uggelviksgatan" file names. Thank you. Ljuvlig (talk) 20:05, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Ljuvlig: You’ve requested 1 rename request and you have just about 200 edits. Please have a look at the the criteria above. I think if you put in more meaningful file name requests you would stand a better chance. FitIndia 23:23, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I know I haven't gotten all the edits but these all need moving: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Uggleviksgatan.jpg, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Uggleviksgatan_7-13.jpg, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Uggleviksgatan,_g%C3%A5rd.jpg, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Uggleviksgatan.jpg, can't you temporary give it and I will let you know when I am done so you can remove me as fileremover, I can then wait to I get 1000-1500, I just need it to move these articles now. Please, it will be easier for you as for me. Ljuvlig (talk) 05:36, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
 Not done 1989 (talk) 15:47, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I know I'm fairly new here on commons, but I've made dozens of accepted rename requests over the last few days, almost entirely related to criteria #6, and I'd like to be able to make such moves myself. See my requests so far. I understand if I am too new for this right, and can go back to tagging the pages for others to move, but I thought I would reduce the workload by offering to help myself. Thank you. DannyS712 (talk) 23:11, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Participation for over three days for mostly criteria #6 is not enough. More activity is needed for this role. 1989 (talk) 18:28, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have been tagging copyrighted files for SD. Some of the files were perfect but they need renaming due to misspelling or meaningless names etc (like this one), I've requested many file renaming requests. I've read Renaming Guildline and I understand and will follow Guildlines. Thanks! --CptViraj (Talk) 12:30, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done You’ve requested 4 rename requests. More activity is needed for this role. 1989 (talk) 23:21, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@1989: I was not using Rename gadget before, so you will not find all rename requests on RenameLink tag. --CptViraj (Talk) 01:26, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have almost 10000 Contribution in Commons. Need to rename a lot of file specially under c:Category:Flickr files uploaded by User:Mohammed Galib Hasan. I already submit many file-move requests which are successful. Filemover rights will help me a lot as well as will save my time. Thank you. Mohammed Galib Hasan (talk) 16:44, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done --— D Y O L F 77[Talk] 01:07, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Dyolf77 for the right, can i get the autopatroller right as well? Mohammed Galib Hasan (talk) 09:16, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose looked over your recent file renames, you moved files to the same ambigious file name and did not enter the reason for the rename. For example, File:Aircraft at Zurich International Airport .jpg is still as ambigious as File:Zurich International Airport (48157317096).jpg. Also, removing the number string for the sake of removing isn't really neccessary. (Talk/留言/토론/Discussion) 09:23, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Also, user doesn't even check for any errors when renaming the files. e.g. File:Air Nostrum .jpg, File:Egyptair Copenhagen Cairo .jpg, File:Öresundsbron .jpg, etc.). (Talk/留言/토론/Discussion) 09:30, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
 Not done Unassigned permission per above. Please read carefully the rules. Thanks — D Y O L F 77[Talk] 09:34, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I upload files about Asia/Iran. Sometimes i chosed simple or ambiguous file names (Like: Classic cars Tehran) and many of my files needs a name that explains that what's in the picture exactly. Thank you. Jolmia (talk) 15:27, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now. Please consider 4nn1l2's comment. I hope you understand. Kind regards, — Tulsi Bhagat (contribs | talk) 07:39, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm from zhwiki (as a patroller and rollbacker) and zhwikivoyage (as a patroller and autopatroller). I'm active in some groups about Wikipedia and often see some newcomers mistakenly took the file name, so I want to help them correct the filename right. I hope you can allow, Thank you. --Rowingbohe♬(Talk/zhwiki) 06:33, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now. I am really sorry. Please consider 4nn1l2's comment. I hope you understand. Kind regards, — Tulsi Bhagat (contribs | talk) 07:41, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I often cleanup the backgrounds of images that are .jpg and have to upload a new version of the file as a .png, but having to add the {{SupersededPNG}} and {{Supersedes}} is kind of irritating and tedious, it would be much easier if I had the mover right. Thank you. Waddie96 (talk) 13:34, 22 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The file mover right allows one to move files. It doesn't help with tagging files. And you can not change a file's extension by moving it. Masum Reza📞 13:38, 22 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've been using Wikimedia commons for years and I know the policies and Licenses. I will be uploading large number of photos in the coming days and be effective in commons. --Mohammad Hijjawi (talk) 14:46, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
As per your request you may apply for autopatroler rights, why you requested for filemover. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 16:22, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose Rationale not filemover--Boothsift 22:48, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose per above. I'd like to see more activity please. Only criterion 3 rename requests made from their account. And that doesn't make me believe that they understand file renaming guidelines. Besides none of those requests were fulfilled properly (moved to different names instead). Also their uploaded files have non-descriptive names, which I don't want to see from a file mover candidate. "WikidataCon 3 by Hijjawi" isn't really a descriptive name and why there are their username in most of their file names? It is not needed, upload comments and file summary serve the same purpose without tainting a file's name. Masum Reza📞 10:34, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not granted - No rationale provided that demonstrates a need for the file mover permission. ~riley (talk) 04:44, 31 October 2019
I usually keep an eye on files uploaded by new users and tag them for SD, DR etc and often find wrong/incomplete information in file titles (e.g. photos of ancient inscriptions) and spend a lot of time researching information about files without a usable description, so it would be helpful if I were able to move these media to the right title myself. I have this right in Persian Wiki aswell Thank you. Déjà vu 15:51, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for applying. Could you demonstrate that you understand our local file renaming policy? You don't appear to have requested renaming of files much. I see only two rename requests so far. Or am I missing something? Masum Reza📞 16:09, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And what does copyrignt has to do with COM:PENIS and COM:CSD#F10? We do not appear to have any speedy deletion criteria for files of genitals. Masum Reza📞 16:20, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure if you are aware, but this is not place for asking question about users contribution! every user have their own Talk page and you can ask their which this is mine, Admins have to spend their time vetting RFR candidates anyways, why not spend your time contributing to the project?!Déjà vu 17:00, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Not done Continue your great contributions, but please slow down your request of user rights. This is your third request for rights within three weeks. Filemover can be very damaging if used incorrectly and with minimal rename requests made, it is hard to see evaluate your need and ability for this permission. I recommend you wait at least one month before re-applying. ~riley (talk) 17:41, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@~riley: I sincerely thank you for your excellent suggestions.Déjà vu 18:44, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
