I have AWB acces on my main account yet, but i want to separate contributons. I know, that this account have ne edits, but i already did AWB edits from my main account. Thank you (and happy new year!). --janbery (talk) 14:15, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Janbery: I am reluctant to give access to an account with "bot' in the name without an approved bot task. What are you planning on doing? ~riley (talk) 03:32, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@~riley: Firstly, I want to run some name/description changes for my friend. Then I will use bot to correct my mistakes and things like that. For now I will edit only my files and other autors only, if they say me, that I can. All bot tasks will be on userpage. I will ask for bot flag after few of these edits. Bot have flag on cswiki. --janbery (talk) 06:59, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for explaining, but I am still not comfortable giving AWB access based on what you have described above. This is all things you can run off your main account. If you find a task, you can request approval at COM:BRFA. Closing as  Not done. ~riley (talk) 07:42, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to search for global file usage after converting to a vector version. Thank you. Geralt Riv (*talk) 14:49, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Geralt Riv: What about Special:GlobalUsage?Jonteemil (talk) 15:18, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Jonteemil: How could I quickly change the version of a png file to svg on many pages? Eg. File:Tocco_stemma.png-- Geralt Riv (*talk) 15:27, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Geralt Riv: Usually the tool for global replacement would be User:CommonsDelinker but for some reason changing a non-SVG version to a SVG version is highly controversial, see User:CommonsDelinker/commands/front. This means that replacing a non-SVG file with an SVG file must be done manually. Sorry. Additionaly, even if it was non-controversial, a request for permission to use AWB listed here would only grant you permission to use AWB on Commons. To use it on other wikis you must request the permission on each respective wiki.Jonteemil (talk) 15:35, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Jonteemil: I wanted to get links from the WM Commons "Global usage". Do you know other methods of semi-automatic editing? Copy / paste is very monotonous on many pages. Geralt Riv (*talk) 17:53, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Geralt Riv: I know, copy/paste isn't that fun. There is a tool with which you can globally replace, namely User:Perhelion/justReplace.js, but it requires the Filemover permission. I found a user that was in the same situation in 2018 as the one you are in at the moment: Commons:Requests for rights/Denied/Filemover/2018#Sushant savla. Sushant savlas' request was denied as they only had about 470 edits. You have about the double and has made 3 rename requests using RenameLink so I guess your possibilities are a bit bigger but I don't know how hard it is to get granted filemover permission.Jonteemil (talk) 18:12, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Geralt Riv: There's Commons:GlobalReplace, though it's currently unmaintained, so expect some bugs. That said though, it's not really recommended to replace a raster with a SVG, so don't be surprised if a local wiki reverts you. pandakekok9 05:49, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Pandakekok9: We don't understand each other. I do not want to rename the file: file.png → newfile.png After drawing the vector version i want to change the image on pages using raster graphics. file.png → file.svg Geralt Riv (*talk) 10:04, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Um, I think you're the one misunderstanding here. That's exactly what the GlobalReplace tool does. It replaces the global usage of one file with another. I never said it renames a file. pandakekok9 11:21, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Pandakekok9: I'll try. Perhaps this image misled me: File:Global_Replace_0.3.png I didn't check further. Geralt Riv (*talk) 07:04, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Geralt Riv: I'd like to recommend you FindAndReplace, no needed AWB. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 18:06, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've been uploading files since 2017, and have uploaded 500+ since. I'm asking for this right because I want to change |author=Oyuncu Aykhan, |author=Aykhan Zayedzadeh, and |author=Solavirum with |author= Thank you. Solavirum (talk) 19:46, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Solavirum: May you elaborate more on what you are trying to change? ~ Fluffy89502 ~ talk 09:57, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Fluffy89502: , I've changed my username multiple times, as you can see here, and here. I want to replace these names (+ Solavirum) located in the Information of the files I've uploaded with this template. Solavirum (talk) 10:55, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
 Oppose: I think it's not a good idea to create a Creator template for a normal user like you who did just upload images from the web and a few own images, not counting your selfies that aren't in fact selfies but are tagged own despite not being your own work. --Achim (talk) 15:43, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
