Have worked with batch-uploads before and working actively with GLAM-institutions wishing to perform batch-uploads. Cheers. Lokal_Profil 10:06, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You're sysop, so you can assign yourself. —레비Revi 10:41, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
True and done. /Lokal_Profil 10:59, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
So that I can help out in coming batch uploads for Wikimedia Sverige. Thank you. Ainali (talk) 15:20, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done. — Revicomplaint? 15:26, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a GLAMwikipedian from Germany and would like to work with the GLAMwiki toolset. Thank you. Regards, Christoph Braun (talk) 11:15, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Für welches Projekt genau und wie lange brauchst du das recht? :) --Steinsplitter (talk) 11:38, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm happy to respond either way (thanks to for his kind words below). Projects may include the Hamburg Museum cooperation, a metadata mapping for the Library of Congress (finally replacing User:Magnus Manske's marvellous MARCsman) and helping out with user requested uploads. Other than that I like to work on my own pace, rather than limiting myself to a certain time frame - especially considering unpredictable user requests. Please elaborate in case there are any reasons for a time limit. Regards, Christoph Braun (talk) 15:33, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We have not agreed any time limits, but I expect the working practice to be generous considering that to get the right you are already trusted and have a good rationale for it. It seems reasonable that if you have no active related projects (batch upload or GLAM training) for, say, 6 months someone might spot that and ask if you still need it and give you 30 days to reply. That would be a similar process to that used for expiring sysop powers and considering this is a powerful mass upload right, we ought to see an appropriate governance process. As you can re-apply for the right, it's not a huge deal. Of course if someone makes a dog's breakfast of a massive batch upload, that would be a big deal. :-) -- (talk) 15:40, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
PS as you mentioned LoC, why have calls like http://lccn.loc.gov/00650410/mods not worked for over a week? -- (talk) 15:47, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have been a Wikipedian-in-Residence a number of times (details on my en.Wikipedia user page) and regularly run editathon events in other GLAMs. Andy Mabbett (talk) 13:38, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
For which project and how long do you need this right? --Steinsplitter (talk) 13:43, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Side-note - I think it is reasonable for folks like Christoph or Pigsonthewing to have the rights for this quite powerful tool, so long as they intend to support GLAMs as part of training or project support in the near future. There is a risk that a mistake could rapidly generate 100,000 crappy files that could be a small nightmare to fix, and this is why anyone asking for generic access should have a well established track record on Commons, be sufficiently grounded in the issues of batch uploading (such as the importance of good categorization) and have a track record in training and supporting GLAM partnerships. Having worked with Pigsonthewing recently on such projects, I have no qualms. -- (talk) 13:57, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Andy Mabbett (talk) 14:08, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
For many projects; I currently have three GLAM initiatives in hand, and am working to develop others; as I said, "details on my en.Wikipedia user page"; and indefinitely, please. Andy Mabbett (talk) 14:08, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I will be training GLAM reps in Finland to use the tool or will use it in collaboration. I am also studying the usage to extend the tool with properties for scanned maps. I have occasionally had a test account for the tool already. Thank you. Susannaanas (talk) 17:37, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done I've also made you autopatrolled. INeverCry 18:12, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Susannaanas (talk) 18:46, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm working with GLAM-uploads in Sweden, made several batch upload scripts, e.g. NordiskaMuseetBot, MSCBot, and already have a beta test account. Thank you. Prolineserver (talk) 20:49, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've uploaded tens of thousands of images as part of our NARA project, and intend to upload more, and help other institutions to do so. Thanks! Dominic (talk) 21:25, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
