Newzealand123

[edit]
[edit]

Rationale

[edit]

Same reason as last time. Lots of new socks identified on English Wikipedia, so it's time for another check, block and nuke session. Lather, rinse, repeat. LX (talk, contribs) 20:45, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Results

[edit]
  • I've started on this case and have implemented numerous blocks but do not have time to complete it or post results at this time. If another CheckUser wants to finish what I started they are welcome to, or I can take care of it tomorrow. Tiptoety talk 04:46, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Alright, after a few days of pruning I've blocked all of the above accounts. Some of the blocks were based on evidence from the English Wikipedia as many of the accounts have never edited here. I also deleted nearly all of the uploads. Some of them I was not comfortable speedy deleting, such as File:PaoloS.jpg, which does have an associated OTRS ticket and does match the usual upload pattern. I've looked into the OTRS ticket and cannot flat out say it is a fraud. The sender's email address does seem somewhat official. You might want to open a deletion request. Also, I performed some checks on the English Wikipedia and located some unblocked socks there with some spam articles. I've blocked the accounts and deleted the articles. I'm not going to list all the accounts here, there are just too many. Tiptoety talk 17:17, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rationale

[edit]

This account has been confirmed by CU on EN to be a sock of Newzealand123. [1]

Newzealand123 is already blocked on Commons. The sock, Ketsuban Pichu, has made many contributions to Commons.

[2]

Requesting CU to find other likely socks.

Results

[edit]

In addition to User:Ketsuban Pichu, I found User:Sydwildersocial which is a likely sock. I blocked both. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 18:36, 20 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed and blocked on English Wikipedia. Also blocked on Commons. Need checking and reviewing of uploads.
Confirmed on English Wikipedia and blocked on Commons. Included for completeness and because the uploads need to be reviewed.
Not registered on Commons. Included for completeness.

Rationale

[edit]

This is a commercially operated, industrial-sized farm of confirmed sockpuppets. See en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Newzealand123/Archive, en:Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of Newzealand123 and en:Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive840#User:NLZ06 - not quite clear what they're up to. Many of them have already been blocked (see Category:Sockpuppets of Newzealand123), but many have not. Since there are sockpuppets registered on Wikipedia but not used here, it stands to reason that there may be Commons-only sockpuppets as well, so I think a check is in order.

Additionally, several of the confirmed sockpuppets are not yet blocked on Commons, and a lot of the remaining files should be deleted. Most of the files have licenses that have supposedly been verified by OTRS, but given that this user has no problem breaking rules, forging other people's statements and telling blatant lies, I'm not satisfied that the permission e-mails have been properly scrutinized. I have also raised that issue at Commons:OTRS/Noticeboard#Files uploaded by Klokus (permanent link to the discussion as of right now). LX (talk, contribs) 18:48, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There are no definitely related accounts which are not already listed; for some suspect accounts the data is not conclusive enough to base any action one.

I'm going to block all listed accounts now. Uploads of all accounts still have to be reviewed. --Krd 15:55, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be no evidence that any of the existing uploads have fake OTRS tickets. --Krd 16:48, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Krd: Your subscribed to CU-l yes? If so, i'll throw some information from the enwiki CUing there so you can have a look and compare. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 04:44, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, of course. --Krd 05:46, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
