- There is not, at this time, consensus to make Yarl an admin. I encourage him to keep up the good work and try again in a few months. Giggy (talk) 04:27, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm on Commons since 2006 with over 12k edits. I'm also admin in Polish Wikipedia, trusted flickr-reviewer and I share my account with a bot. I've upladed over 1000 images from flickr, Wikipedias and own. I try to be active on Polish VP, Deletion requests and commands on CommonsDelinker.
On Commons I mainly clean subcategories of category:Poland and Category:Media needing categories, where I try to categorise images, find duplicates and copyvios. I request for adminship because I want to help clean Commons with deleting copyvios and simplify my work in this project. Yarl ✉ 17:18, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

- Strong support The silent worker, did already major cleanup work in the Poland categories. --Foroa (talk) 17:58, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
waek Support abf /talk to me/ 18:20, 28 October 2008 (UTC)- Oppose sorry, but a commons sysop should be more firm in copyright issues, exspecially in wikimedia-releated issues. abf /talk to me/ 18:26, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
SupportBusy contributor, knowledgeable in an area where many English speakers would be at sea. Durova (talk) 18:23, 28 October 2008 (UTC) Switching to Neutral per copyright concerns. Durova (talk) 05:11, 29 October 2008 (UTC)- strong Oppose - admin should know something about licenses, uploading screenshot with license self (on pl.wiki) isn't good thing, maybe you should read more about licenses. Herr Kriss (talk) 18:27, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose Uploading file on Pl-wiki and giving it a wrong license is either lack of knowledge or ignoring rules. In both cases these arent the best references to help on Commons. Masur (talk) 18:38, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Support the mistake is not so terrible. Greudin (talk) 18:45, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- Support too much conclusions from one upload of screenshots with wrong author given. Hard working user. --Sfu (talk) 20:45, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- Support we need silent workers. And Nobodie's perfect. Marcus Cyron (talk) 15:48, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose per comments ABF and Masur Sterkebaktalk 19:34, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- Support 12k edits; he sure is dedicated. I think he's learnt from his mistake and will be more careful next time. How do you turn this on (talk) 03:51, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
- Support a strong contributer. I think Yarl understands his mistakes and is unlikely to repeat them. --J.smith (talk) 22:45, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose per Herr Kriss --Szczepan talk 11:59, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Regards to this image: I know how to choose right license for WikiMedia screenshots, see Image:Commons upload form new (pl).png or Image:Commons upload form (pl).png. After notification on my user page I corrected it. Yarl ✉ 18:57, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Yep, first you've reverted my discussion about it (which weren't nice) and next time i wrote you've corrected it. As an commons admin you should know it without notices on your user talk, you did mistake in one of the simplests things. I'm afraid you may be not helpful for newbies if you tell them wrong things about licenses. Also you are an admin of Polish Wikipedia and i've never seen you in adding templates to bad images or deleting them. Btw licenses in those images aren't ok, cause i don't know anything about licenses of question mark or arrow. Herr Kriss (talk) 20:38, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- I've corrected description 1 minute after your alert, in the same time you were writing to me. Oh, come on, I helped Lukas skywalker with moving images from Wikipedia. Check my delete log on pl.wiki. Yarl ✉ 21:21, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- I don't see what's wrong with either of the images Yarl gives as examples here. Giggy (talk) 23:17, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

- Also you are an admin of Polish Wikipedia and i've never seen you in adding templates to bad images or deleting them. I'm sharing the same impression - never got any feedback from you about images at polish wiki, never seen you in any discussion concerning them. From a Commons admin, I would expect some good cooperation with his "home Wiki" especially that you are an admin over there. Masur (talk) 21:59, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Once again, check my delete log, don't you see graphics? On Polish Wikipedia I mainly move images to Commons, as far as I know I can decide what I want to do. Good cooperation? I thougt i've got good cooperation with Wikipedia, see barnstar from Lukas, talk with you :).
Regards to Uploading files on Pl-wiki and giving them wrong licenses. Why plural form? We are talking only about one picture, what is a bit strange. Yarl ✉ 14:47, 29 October 2008 (UTC)- You are right. Singular should be. But particulary that discussion [1], unfortunately in my eyes serves as a strong support for my negative voice. You've deleted files form plwiki, which were moved to Commons, but in all those cases there were doubts about their legal status and finally they were deleted from Commons cos of that. By deleting them from plwiki and not checking properly their status on Commons, you somehow "legalized" their wrong licensing. Commons its not the place to validate licenses from our home wikis, as you wrote me. As a an admin on plwiki you shouldn allow to move files with not good licenses to Commons, but you did. I discovered it by accident. I wont search through all your deletion logs checking other cases, cos I believe that it hasnt happened again. I believe but unfortunately I'm not sure...Masur (talk) 19:04, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- It was wrong but it was incidental and I will do my best to avoid situation like that in future. It's sad, that you don't see any positive aspects of my work in Commons. Yarl ✉ 15:50, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
