Potential FP/QI?
It's me again! I wonder if the light track in this image qualifies it for FP or QI? Many thanks.廣九直通車 (talk) 07:29, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
- @廣九直通車 I'm sorry but I'm not really wowed by this. It's a bit ordinary, the composition is not very striking. --Podzemnik (talk) 07:33, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you! I am learning to get a good grasp on good images, so I will probably continue to ask for more advice regarding images at here, regards.廣九直通車 (talk) 12:26, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

Is it worth fixing this?
This is a focus stacked image from a defunct water pumping station. There are a few blurry patches where the automated stacking didn't quite work. I think these are fixable, but would take effort to do so manually. Is it worth fixing, or is the composition just too cluttered? — Rhododendrites talk | 23:42, 24 November 2019 (UTC)
- BTW some related images here. — Rhododendrites talk | 23:42, 24 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Rhododendrites: I'm not sure about the other pictures but I'd certainly support this one if the issues are fixed. --Podzemnik (talk) 07:32, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Podzemnik: Thanks. I think I fixed them to the extent they're fixable last night and uploaded the new version just now. I'll give it a go at FPC and see what happens. There are still some issues with the image, of course, like noise and a couple areas I do wish were sharper.
- For context, this was very dark space with a few harsh lights. I opted for a stack with narrow DOF+flash to avoid having ISO too high and decided to embrace the shadows with B&W... Curious if people have other ideas on what to do. — Rhododendrites talk | 22:28, 2 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Rhododendrites: Pretty good. The only thing that came to my mind was that the bolts on the left are leaning right - shouldn't they be straight perhaps? I'm not sure. Otherwise just go for FPC :) --Podzemnik (talk) 23:42, 2 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Podzemnik: Done (I think). Commons:Featured picture candidates/File:Waterworks Museum (85495s)bw.jpg. We'll see. :) Thanks. — Rhododendrites talk | 00:27, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
