SVG rendering problem

There are some problems with certain SVGs, and it's new if I'm not mistaken. See for example File:ISO 639 Icon eo.svg: there is no correct rendering at any size, yet I'm positive some weeks ago it showed up perfectly. In contrast, File:ISO 639 Icon es.svg seems to be OK at first sight. Clicking at the 500px previewer, it's all right, however if you click at the 2000px one the letters are incorrectly rendered. Strange SVG Problem

I used Scribus to export a chemical structure as an SVG, but upon trying to upload it to the commons, it didn't seem to work. I tried over again thinking that perhaps my connection had been interrupted in the middle of the transfer, but it fixed nothing. Media:Geraniol-struc.svg is the file in question. File:Geraniol-struc.svg contains a reference to an external PNG image (which is not allowed here), and little vector data actually in the file. I removed the image reference, and it now displays as blank, instead of broken image... AnonMoos (talk) 09:43, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

SVG problem

I have a file in .svg here: File:Hong Kong Railway Future Route Map en.svg and every time I upload it the text goes all weird and it doesn't look proper in the thumbnail. When I open it to full resolution, it goes okay, then if I see it in any other resolution (such as 2000px) the same problem happens again. Don't know what the cause is, but probably the same problem can be seen on the 120px thumbnail of the most recent version of the much simpler file File:Alien_decoder_Futurama.svg -- it went from completely wacky to reasonable-looking, and then back to completely wacky (where it is now). By "all weird", do you mean that it takes up more space than you expected and ends up out of the box, or is there something more? If that is your issue, it looks like a font problem: the SVG renderer is ignoring the font you've set, which is strange since Bitstream Charter is on the list at meta:SVG fonts. A workaround would be to change the font to e.g. DejaVu Sans in your SVG editor and adjust the font size so that it fits.

Also, it's better practice to include credits in the metadata and in the description page rather than on the image itself - see Commons:Manipulating_meta_data#Purpose_for_using_EXIF_at_Commons. Pruneau^talk 16:04, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

SVG illustration totally black upon resizing page

Hello guys. I am probably not the first (nor the last) to ask about this problem, so I hope there is a quick solution to this. I am new to vector graphics and I used Inkscape to vectorize File:GriekseTempels.JPG, and redid it into File:Greek_temples.svg. All was going well and I uploaded it, it showed fine (as can be seen in its history), except that the page was too large for the illustration. So I opened page properties and I enlarged the iluustration, resized the page to fit the image and extended the page a bit on each side so as to make a bit of white space around it. All looks fine when I see it in inkscape, but upon uploading it, the entire thing turned black! As a newbie I am aware that this might even be a trivial thing, but nevertheless I can't seem to find the solution. Can anyone help with this? --B. Jankuloski (talk) 00:19, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

I just downloaded the "23:36, 26 August 2009" version of the file, slightly simplified the code, and adjusted the bottom margin (which seemed the easiest way). AnonMoos (talk) 07:16, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
