At these places, photography is permitted only by personal use(I have no permissions for commercial uses). so we cannot use these photos under GFDL or CC-by-2.x licenses.(all of these photos are my own works)Kentin (talk) 07:02, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- I imagine we should delete these as a courtesy to Kentin, since I'm guessing he/she could be in some trouble for accidentally publishing these. - Jmabel ! talk 17:30, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- Some of these are confusing. How is File:Toyo university.jpg a problem? And File:NHK shibuya.jpg? Looks like a picture from a highway. Wknight94 talk 18:43, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- There seems to be a lot of building externals here, and public parks, and other places where photography is generally permitted. I'd like to see those removed and a clearer explanation of why all these disparate places all have the same restriction on photography.--Prosfilaes (talk) 01:27, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- I believe all of them were taken in management sites. I have to get special permissions for commercial use(not personal use) to managers. There is no problem if I take photos from the exterior of management sites.--Kentin (talk) 07:10, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

- Delete: as stated by photographer, he took it in controlled areas, i.e. areas not accessible to the public. That is a key consideration for freedom of panorama. The photographer can upload photos of the subjects (located in private areas) taken from areas that are open to the public. Jappalang (talk) 03:09, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- Keep: Most of the photographs were taken in public spaces. Zenpukuji park is accessible to any citizens for free. Remember that Japan is not the Soviet Union.--トトト (talk) 07:06, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- Keep Freedom of panoramna has nothing to do with it, most of these buildings are ordinary and do not pass the threshold of individuality. -Nard the Bard 14:08, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
- If he is requesting deletion because he made a mistake on copyright law....how do we know he isn't making a maistake now by deleting all of them. I would need a link to the copyright laws in Japan before I could vote either way.......but the definition of a public place in Japanese law would also nned to be provided here. I am not aware that Japans laws differ that much from US laws considering much of it is st up to resemble the wests.--Amadscientist (talk) 20:43, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
Delete If he asks, why refuse? Jan Arkesteijn (talk) 23:40, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
- Comment This is a strange request. I looked at uploader's gallery, and there are some images (aerial photos, statues) that are much more questionable than the ponds and gardens he is listing here. Keep at least the images that are in use. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 22:06, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
please delete these photos quickly!!(aerial photos in Japan are permitted in Wikimedia commons.)--Kentin (talk) 11:32, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, the aerial photos do have a good license. This request includes a number of statues (see file names), and most of these are probably still under copyright. Those must be deleted because of COM:FOP#Japan. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 13:38, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
- Keep at least the images that are in use. "Non-commercial" restriction applies only to "artistic works". COM:FOP#Japan Laitr Keiows (talk) 05:09, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- All of them were taken in controlled areas, cannot use them freely.(I think it is not related toCOM:FOP#Japan).--Kentin (talk) 10:22, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- What do you mean by "controlled areas"? COM:FOP#Japan has no mention of this term. Should we delete every photo from Japan, not just yours?.. Laitr Keiows (talk) 07:57, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

- Keep at least the images that are in use. Those photos that Kentin requested to delete, are not photography prohibition objects.--Minor edit (talk) 12:10, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- Keep buildings, Delete statues. Stifle (talk) 10:55, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- Delete Speedy delete images of statues which appear to breach FOP in Japan, there seems to be consensus on this.--Elekhh (talk) 03:45, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Comment - strange request - first thing the uploader should do is to delete them from his own gallery and from the articles where they are used Cholo Aleman (talk) 13:42, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- That's debatable; frankly, I'm always a little frustrated when someone runs around removing images up for deletion from the articles where they're used, since it makes it hard to judge whether they're actually useful and in use. A personal gallery is a personal thing, and I can see a person wanting to keep all their images in their personal gallery even while they're asking for some of them to be deleted.--Prosfilaes (talk) 23:07, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Kept with the exception of images violating freedom of panorama in Japan. Any legal agreement or absence of it between photographer and site owners do not effect copyright status of images. The Commons and all other third parties are not subject to such a contract. Justass (talk) 21:16, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
