Commons:Deletion requests/User:Sunil balhara1986
Resume, promo page. Out of project scope. Art-top (talk) 20:14, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
Kept: There does not appear to be anything at COM:SCOPE that says this type of content should be deleted and Commons does not appear to have meaningful policy/guideline on use of user pages. This is in the user namespace, where users often post information promoting their background and activities, and is not in the file namespace.
en:Wikipedia:User pages recognizes that there is no fixed use for user pages, except that usually one's user page has something about oneself. In a sense, this CV falls within the broad category of background information usually posted on user pages. The en.wp guideline does also caution, however, to think carefully before adding non-public information to one's user page.
I am reluctant to delete a user's page, esp. since the content is not per se objectionable and I am not aware of any policy or guideline that would require this to be deleted. Having said that, I worry that the user is unfamiliar with the purpose of Commons and/or his user page, and may not be aware that he has posted personal information and contact information for the world to see. My inclination is to blank the user page, leave him a note on his talk page as a courtesy, and allow him the option of reverting the blank should he so desire. It's not the optimal solution, but it seems to be the best balance that I can strike. Skeezix1000 (talk) 22:36, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
