Unattributed Derivative Files

[edit]

These ecclesiastical coats of arms were uploaded originally by the user Sebas RS, now Jac ÁlGa, attributing their authorship to himself, although they are mere modifications of files uploaded by other authors (Ivan03, SajoR and myself) to whom they have not been attributed as required by the Creative Commons license with which they were uploaded, thereby violating our copyright policy.

The uploader user, with numerous previous irregularities ([1]), has already been warned of the need to attribute derivative works, both on his talk page ([2], [3] and [4]) and that of user Marium Alberto ([5]) of which he is a sockpuppet ([6]). I doubt that those warnings have taken effect.--Macucal (talk) 04:51, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Keep and add the proper attribution. Why would you even bring this up for deletion, when you already know what needs to be done to fix them? --RAN (talk) 05:35, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Keep and just change the attribution. I'm not super up on my Roman Catholic law or whatever, but 99% of the time coats of arms are PD. My only point of reference would be Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Vatican City, which says copyright lasts for 70 years after the death of the artist and each one would have to be nominated individually to figure out who the artists of them are and if they died 70 years ago or not. You can't really do a blanket nomination for something like that though. Especially for the reasons the nominator gives. --Adamant1 (talk) 21:52, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: proper attribution added. Ruthven (msg) 08:33, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
