Template:PD-PCL

The images tagged with this template are not PD because the PCL scanned them, but because they are PD-govt or PD-old in the first place. The templates should be corrected accordingly and this template deleted, and replaced by a pure source template that is specified in addition as an informational tag (not as a license tag). --Rtc 15:47, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

• Delete; PCL is no guarantee for PD. The template says according to the FAQs it is in the public domain; but the FAQs actually say that "A few maps are copyrighted, and are clearly marked as such." – Tintazul ^talk 21:57, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
•  Comment; "The templates should be corrected accordingly and this template deleted". I take it will be in this order: first check all images (and list them for deletion when applicable) and then delete the template to avoid PD(-govt/-old)-images being removed unnecessarily. • Delete; what Tintazul said. First tag the images with the correct PD tag, then delete this. Make sure there's a link to the PCL page, though, so the PD status of the map can be verified. —Angr 07:21, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
• Delete, but careful not to delete the relevant images. I did make the tag remplacement on Image:Casta-MAP Guadalcanal-battles3.jpg for instance (because I uploaded the image first with, in these days, the old ""PD" tag - I am the one who added the various battles on the map). • Keep and modify. The tag is widely used and is definitfly useful. It makes it easier to verify the copyright status. Additional tagging with {{PD-old}} might be recommended. --ALE! ¿…? 10:24, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

•  Comment I added a note to the license tag to explain that this tag shouldn't be used and to replace it with another one, but deleting images because they use this tag as a reason alone is not valid. MECU≈talk 17:19, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Template reworded and name of the template changed to Template:PCL so to reflect, that it is no PD license tag any more. However, the images using this tag have currently no license any more. Maybe someone could check the images or propose them for deletion. --ALE! ¿…? 13:28, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
