I don't see where "Alexander Viktorovich Shipilin (Александр Шипилин) granted permission to distribute his photos under GNU FDL licence." Does he only granted permission to distribute, or did he also grant permission to use, modify and make profit out of his pictures? --Rtc 10:21, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All of these are embeded within the GNU FDL licence. However the template doesen't link to anyware on the site (or to any permission) where the statment can be verified (as far as I can see) /Lokal_Profil 22:57, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
See Commons:Deletion requests/Template:Sergeymila. This is an excerpt from my e-mail to the author: "Насколько возможно использование снимков с Вашего сайта? Если ответ будет положительный, я загружу одну или две пробные фотографии на en.wikipedia.org под лицензией GDFL со ссылкой на Ваш сайт и с указанием Вашего авторства. " This is an excerpt from an e-mail by Mr. Shipilin: "Можете использовать фотографии с сайта, если они могут помочь для статей о достопримечательностях, да еще если с указанием автора. Их, бывает, и без разрешения используют. На сайте размещена небольшая часть. При необходимости я могу переслать и другие материалы", etc. I advise the deletionists to contact the right-holders before bothering the community with their unsubstantiated deletion requests. To tell you the truth, I am thoroughly disgusted with these proceedings, about which I have not even been notified. You guys just scare contributors from your project, especially in those areas (Russia) where you need them most. --Ghirlandajo 14:41, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you've got a permission from Alexander Viktorovich Shipilin then that should be fine. Just forward it to permissions@wikimedia.org and say that it's concerning Template:Ashipilin on Commons =). That way there will be a copy stored with the OTRS system./Lokal_Profil 15:30, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I forwarded my exchange with Mr Shipilin to en-permissions about a fortnight ago. Still no reply whatsoever. --Ghirlandajo 14:54, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I do not see where collectionists contribute anything. They harvest sites instead of genuinely creating new content. That's not how commons was intended. --Rtc 20:23, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you still remember the subject of the e-mail you could ask a user with OTRS access or at the Village Pump if they can find it. alternatively forward it to permissions@wikimedia.org instead citing that it's concerning Template:Ashipilin on Commons./Lokal_Profil 02:09, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. The author was explicitly asked whether he allows his pictures to be uploaded under GFDL and he expressly answers - yes. What more do you need? Why could not the person who originally made thus TfD submission simply ask the uploaded instead of assuming bad faith on the uploaders part? This demonstrates the disturbing attitude of out self-appointed "copyright police". --Irpen 16:41, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy Keep - looks great. Maybe just attach the fragment of the email to the talk page of the template and forward a copy to permissions - just to dot the i's Alex Bakharev 17:40, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OTRS# added to template. Keep but split up into two templates, one with standard license and one with source/permission./Lokal_Profil 15:43, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
