Each of these files relies on the PD tag {{PD-US-no notice}}, yet in each case a copyright notice is clearly visible in the image. (Note: This request does not include the entire contents of Category:Oregon postcards by Tichnor Brothers, many of which do not bear an obvious copyright notice.) — Ipoellet (talk) 22:54, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for rounding these up. I've come across quite a few of these cases myself. Since they were all published by an entity that was defunct before 1963, I suspect that changing the license to {{PD-US-not renewed}} would be a safe bet for these (which is what I've been doing), rather than deleting. I thought I had added a blurb to this effect on the top-level Tichnor Brothers category, but apparently not... might have actually been a talk page somewhere. Otherwise, perhaps one of the licenses indicating that the source has designated them "no known restrictions"? If there's a consensus on this, I'll make the changes. --Junkyardsparkle (talk) 23:58, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
- Same thought as Junkyardsparkle. These should all be safely {{PD-US-not renewed}}. - Jmabel ! talk 04:20, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
- Keep There are no relevant renewals for the copyright holders listed here within a 28 year age range of the circa dates. These can be safely kept and re-tagged as {{PD-US-not renewed}} IronGargoyle (talk) 22:41, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
Kept: per copyright clarifications provided, particularly those by IronGargoyle. --Nick (talk) 17:46, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
