Murals by Diego Rivera

[edit]

Above files from Category:Murals by Diego Rivera in the Palacio de Bellas Artes should be deleted. The murals are still copyrighted as the term hasn't yet expired. However, File:PBA Man at the Crossroads full view from above.JPG should be kept because of the distant view between the camera and many murals. --George Ho (talk) 18:48, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Keep all per Commons:Freedom_of_Panorama#Mexico. The deletion request names no reason why this law shouldn't apply on those files. Also to keep steadiness in the decisions it has to be thought that similar cases like Commons:Deletion requests/File:Paraninfo1.jpg were decided for "keep". --Julius1990 (talk) 19:08, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Keep all per Julius1990. --M.L.WattsAir Mail ✈ 19:40, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The author died in 1957. Copyright term is 70 years after life, which is 2027. --George Ho (talk) 00:11, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
But that is simply not the point here. Maybe you first should get informed about the legal situation in mexico before you act with deletion requests. I see again no argumentation about the specific legal situation. An admin should put this tragedy to an end and decide for keeping soon. --Julius1990 (talk) 05:50, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
{{FoP-Mexico}} is refers to usage in places where photography is publically allowed. The photos were taken inside a building where photography there may be forbidden. --George Ho (talk) 01:39, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You should read on the discussion page what a Mexican tells you about it, and i can just repeat it: For the "publically" in the case of Mexico inside or outside isn't the poit at all. You should take back the delation request, you show you have not the knowledge to ask for one. --Julius1990 (talk) 05:08, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: There is no FOP in Mexico for interior spaces FASTILY 10:20, 10 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Undeleted (for now): The previous close was based on a conclusion ("There is no FOP in Mexico for interior spaces") that isn't even remotely correct. The closing admin even deleted the one image that the even the nominator agreed should be kept, without any explanation. I will leave the DR discussion open for the time being, to the extent that there is any discussion still to be had as to whether the conditions set out at Commons:Freedom_of_Panorama#Mexico have been met (in particular, whether photography is permitted inside Palacio de Bellas Artes). --Skeezix1000 (talk) 14:43, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

To remove the last doubt i contacted the Palacio de Bellas Artes. Like the information i already had, taking photographs of the murals is allowed. George Ho may prove his claim of the prohibition since he seems to know better than the employee of the institution itself. --Julius1990 (talk) 18:10, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Kept - apologies for the first closure. I misread the Mexican FOP clause, believing it to be exclusively applicable to outdoor subjects (similar to German FOP laws). -FASTILY 22:00, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
